The internal server name<br \/>\n2. The internal server with the internal domain name<\/p>\n<p>Note: <a href=\"http:\/\/pkipartner.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/03\/acceptabel-cn-and-san.pdf\">Please see article detailing acceptable internal use IP&#8217;s and names\u00a0HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>The domain names used for externally accessing the server either through Outlook Web Access or POP\/IMAP.<\/li>\n<li>The Auto Discover Domain used for new Exchange\/Outlook 07 functionality (New to Exchange 2007 is the Auto Discover service).(optional)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>So, below is an example of the domain list for the above:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>mailserver<\/strong>&#8212; Private Server Name<br \/>\n<strong>mailserver.local<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; Internal LAN name<br \/>\n<strong>mailserver.mydomain.net<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; POP\/SMTP\/IMAP Server<br \/>\n<strong>mailserver.domain.com<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; POP\/SMTP\/IMAP Server<br \/>\n<strong>owa.domain.com<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; Outlook Web Access<br \/>\n<strong>autodiscover.domain.com<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; AutoDiscover<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Office Communications Server 2007 Certificate Wizard and installing certificates for Office Communications Server, see the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/r.office.microsoft.com\/r\/rlidOCS?clid=1033&amp;p1=library\">deployment documentation<\/a>\u00a0available on the Office Communications Server 2007 Technical Library<\/p>\n<p>More about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/bb332063.aspx\">AutoDiscover<\/a>\u00a0from Microsoft&#8217;s TechNet.<\/p>\n<p>The Autodiscover service makes it easier to configure and manage Outlook 2007. Earlier versions of Microsoft Exchange and Outlook required that you configure all user profiles manually to access Exchange. Extra work was required to manage these profiles if changes occurred to the messaging environment. Otherwise, the Outlook clients could stop functioning correctly.<\/p>\n<p>The Autodiscover service uses a user&#8217;s e-mail address and domain account to automatically configure the user&#8217;s profile.
